As a reminder, the IRS deadline for drug store and pharmacy merchants to support an IIAS solution or file for the 90% Rule is June 30th, 2009 if they wish to continue processing FSA card transactions. If you are a SIGIS member and wish to use the SIGIS solution, you need to become IIAS Certified or file for the 90% Registration prior to this date to avoid interruption in FSA payment card transaction processing. SIGIS is pleased to announce support for drug stores and pharmacies that meet IRS requirements that on a store location by store location basis, 90% of the store's gross receipts during the prior taxable year consisted of items which qualify as medical expenses (including over-the-counter eligible healthcare items). Effective now, drug stores and pharmacies that are SIGIS members can register their stores.
